FOUNDER

Pauline Cheung born in England, relocated to New York City and currently residing in Hong Kong and Shanghai. She paid her fashion dues in NYC with design stints at renowned fashion house. Established as a seasoned and commercially driven designer with strong technical capabilities, she relocated to China in 2006 to spend time embracing the varied facets of her ethnic culture while nurturing raw young design talent that was emerging from the motherland.

Her time has been spent with upcoming designer and mid level fashion brands developing their brands in China.

Pauline's unique hands on, no frills approach and western style management combined with traditional asian values has been an advantage when working with local and international teams bridging the communication gap.

She has managed the global business both for domestic and international markets across all areas of design and product development, tactical retail and marketing initiatives.

This in turn as enabled Pauline to have a sound business sensibility that is seen as rare for a creative.

INDUSTRIA COLLECTIVE PROJECTS

Over the years, Pauline traveled extensively, locally and regionally exploring local communties, gaining insight into different indigenous cultures, crafts and livelihoods to prepare her to follow her instinct to connect people within fashion with those that are less advantaged.

A true fashion creative with endless energy, Pauline's vision and personal desires led her to jump start "Peony Rice" as a design project to become a profitable and sustainable ethical women's wear and lifestyle brand in Asia. It's core is to bring abut change through fashion by creating life opportunities in less advantaged communities by empowering people to maintain their identities with dignity and spirit gained through improving skills, education and preserving tradition and cultures for the next generations.

"We want to encourage the consumer to be more socially responsible in daily fashion and lifestyle choices to establish a better environment for the future".

" it is important for us to be able to effect change and promote awareness of environmental and social issues in less developed countries as well as reduce the excess made by the fashion industry".
